Shao ZHANG

Shao Zhang is currently a researcher at Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.

Shao received her doctoral degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2025, under the supervision of Prof. Ying Wen and Prof. Xinbing Wang. During her doctoral studies, she was a member of SJTU-MARL Group and Data Intelligence Research Center. She obtained her M.Sc. in Multimedia and Entertainment Technology (Game Development) from School of Design, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2020. Prior to that, she earned her B.Eng. in Industrial Design from School of Design, Hunan University in 2019. During her undergraduate studies, she was a member of XiaoLab.

Shao’s research interests lie in agents and multi-agent systems for human-AI collaboration, spanning multi-agent learning, human-computer interaction, and large language models.
Specifically, she currently focuses on:

  • Agentic Foundation Models for cooperative decision-making in multi-agent systems and human-AI collaboration,
  • Language Agents for real-time simultaneous human-AI collaboration,
  • Human-centered Multi-agent Systems for long-term deployment in real-world settings.
